JICA, a Japan development cooperation agency, implements Japan’s official development assistance (ODA) under one body to enable holistic cooperation.. In “Africa Open Innovation Challenge powered by JICA”, JICA aims for social challenges by co-creation of innovative technologies and ideas in each country in Africa where innovations such as AI・IoT・blockchain and so on are born one after another. As a part of the activities, JICA drives open innovations involving broad stakeholders and executed a related program in four countries in Africa and Japan in 2019. (JICA is programming to expand the target areas and social challenges in and after 2020) Since this is a new activity to solve the social issues in Africa, JICA invites talented digital innovators that can change business-as-usual and bring more efficient and effective solutions. .
